Readers

   WELCOME!
Whether on the silver screen or in person, we are glad you're here!

KIDZCHURCH

This Sunday the kids will stay in the "big church" through the songs of praise and worship. Afterwards we will follow the cloud and learn what it means to walk by faith, not by sight. We will be spending our time outside on the rail train and down on the lake, so have your kids dressed for the occasion!

FELLOWSHIP DAY

This sunday will be an extended time of coffee fellowship after the second service. Make plans to stay later and take time to visit with your church family.

"INVITATIONS"

Invitations is a Sunday for those interested in becoming members of the church and those seeking to be received or confirmed as Anglican. The class will be held across two consecutive Sundays, August 8 & 15, from 12:00 - 1:30 PM. A light lunch will be provided. If you are going any ministry in the church, you must be a member. Sign-ups are essential. Email Jef DeMarie to get on the list. Got questions about your situation? Give Bill a call at the church office.

PARKING LOT UPDATE: $3800 NEEDED

Praise God! Over the past few months we've whittled the 35K expense to pave the upper and lower parking lots down $3800. If you would like to contribute to the cause you may see Donna on Sunday, or email her here. Paving of the parking lot will begin the end of July.

I NEVER THOUGHT I'D LIVE TO BE A HUNDRED

Some of us do. And Irene Jewitt - a long time member of our church - is one of them. And open house is scheduled at her house on July 31, from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM. Please sign her birthday card for her located at the back of the church with your blessing from her church community.

GET JABBED AND COVID TIGHT

99.2% of everyone who has COVID, or have died from it this month, are all people who have refused to receive vaccination. The delta variant has been described as "COVID on steroids."  If you haven't been jabbed, we highly recommend it. Stick around for a while.

BOOK DRIVE

The vestry has a lofty goal: To get Books of Common worship in the pews.  We need 80 books to pull it off at a cost of $1500. Having Prayer books in the pews won't take the place of seeing the service on the screens, but they will lend to greater creativity for special services like marriages, healing services, Lent, etc. Books are about $20 a piece, with cases of 16 at $290. If you would like to donate to the cause, earmark checks to "Book Drive," and speak with Donna T.

ALPHA TO REIGNITE IN SEPTEMBER

The ALPHA program is a 10 week course where participants are invited to share a meal, hear a teaching on an aspect of the Faith, and openly share their thoughts and viewpoints. Guests of the course include those searching the meaning of life, those seeking to clarify what they believe (and why), or to brush up on the basics. We strongly recommend newcomers to the church to take the ALPHA Course, as it runs deep in the DNA of our community.

  • NEEDS:

    • People with a servant's heart to create an atmosphere of hospitality among our guests.

    • Guests to be invited. These are people you know, people you work with. You will invite them to the opening session, enjoy a meal with them, and leave them to participate for the rest of the course.

Check out the website page HERE for more information about the course, and sign up, or volunteer to help by emailing Linda here

ARE YOU BEING CALLED INTO VESTRY LEADERSHIP?

Many of us on Vestry will be leaving at the end of this year, thus opening up opportunities for others to step in the gap. For more information on what a vestry member does, qualifications and requirements, or other questions of discernment, see Bill.

TITHES AND OFFERINGS

Giving 10% of one's income is the minimum standard of giving in the Scripture. We bless you for you giving and sharing your time, talents, and treasures with the faithful. Giving is done in two ways:

  • Offering plates at the rear of the church (as you enter)

  • Online giving here

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
