TRAGEDY IN WESTERN KENTUCKY

Earlier this week disaster struck the western Kentucky region with a massive tornado event. Whole towns, neighborhoods, and churches have been heartbreakingly affected. Lord have mercy. This Sunday we are inviting designated gifts on their behalf. If you would like to respond to the tornado tragedy in Kentucky, The Anglican Relief & Development Fund (ARDF) has provided ways to do that. You can give directly to them here, or designate checks to "Kentucky" and drop them in the plates in the church as you walk in.

ADVENT WREATH THIS WEEK

If you and your family, or a group of friends, would like to lead these prayers, we're looking for people for Sunday. See, or email Pastor Cinnamon here

DISCOVERY BIBLE STUDY

Each Sunday of Advent will be a time to reflect on the readings affiliated with Advent. The Discovery Bible study is a place to hear what the Spirit is speaking to you in the passage with the intention of living that truth out through the week. The study lasts about an hour and take place after the 10:00 AM service. All are welcome!

CHURCH CHRISTMAS CAROLING: TODAY

Tune up your voices and make plans to sing the the Good News! Meet at the church at 4:00 PM on December 19.  Invite friends to spread cheer by singing carols together and enjoy fellowship with home made hot chocolate afterwards.

CHRISTMAS POINSETTAS

A beautiful way to remember a loved one is to decorate the sanctuary with a poinsettia. They can be purchased by you and brought into the sanctuary, or monies for purchase can be given to Donna T. See Alice G. for more information.

A MINISTRY CELEBRATING LIFE

We are in the process of becoming a Life Church representing Anglicans For Life, a ministry that recognizes the preciousness of human life from conception to death. For more information check out the page on our website here, or see Rita R. or Donna K on Sunday.

GRIEFSHARE TO BEGIN JANUARY 12th AT ANDOVER HUB

For those grieving the loss of a family member or friend, the Holidays can be a difficult time. You may have found that there are not many people who understand the deep hurt that you feel. It can be a confusing time when you feel isolated and have many questions about things you’ve never faced before. GriefShare is a way to help heal and navigate after the loss of a loved one. For more information on time and place, visit our website page here.

PRAYER MINISTRY AT ANDOVER

There are a number of ways to receive, or give, prayer. Here are a few of them:

  • Sunday Morning. Prayers are offered after the service at front of the church for you or situations you are concerned with.

  • Wednesday Morning. Common prayer times run from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM. ZOOM here. Prayer appointments can be arranged for extended times of "soaking prayer" through the week. Appointments can be made with Cinnamon B. or Linda M.

  • Quiet Time Prayers. Bring the Prayer Hive list before the Lord in your personal devotions. You can see them here(Contact the office here to request a password.)

  • Anytime. Personal counselling and "soaking prayer" appointments can be arranged through the offices  here.

What a privilege it is to carry... Everything to God in prayer!

A PRAYER FOR FUTURE VESTRY LEADERSHIP

Almighty and ever living God, source of all wisdom and calling, stir those whom you've called for the renewal and mission of this church. We pray you'd raise up anointed leadership for 2022, empower them with your Spirit, and grace them in your compassion. In all things teach us to seek first your honor and glory and grant us the courage to pursue the call of Christ, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

A WORD ON DESIGNATED GIVING

There's a tendency to give money and/or time to special funds or projects, sometimes even considering "time spent" as one's weekly tithe. This type of giving is called "designated giving." While highly valued, designated giving is considered up and beyond one's weekly tithe.

This season of Advent (the church's New Year) is a great time to evaluate giving on all levels (ministry, time, and monies) and discover what and where what God would desire for you in '22.

INSTALLATION SERMON BY BISHOP ANDREW

A powerful sermon was preached by our Bishop at the Service of Installation and Confirmation. It had to do with restoration and God's will in our trials.
